Did you know Portland has the ninth largest Native American population in the US?

Did you know that that the Portland urban Native community are descendants from over 380 tribes, and most are multi-tribal and multi-ethnic?

Hear community leaders talk about the modern experience of Native American community in Oregon, and discuss the question:

Is Oregon a good place to be Native American or American Indian today?”

Our panelists are:

Tana Atchley, Multicultural Cluster Advisor for SALP at Portland State University
Dexter Nathan, Tribal Affairs Manager for Bonneville Power
Jim Roberts, Policy Analyst Northwest Portland Indian Health Board

These panelists will share their own “Oregon Story” and share insights related to key issues within the Native community, as well as the diversity within the Indigenous values and world views that contribute to the culture vitality and uniqueness of Portland.
