Ally For Social Justice Workshop
Date: 1:00pm - 4:00pm PST January 25 Location: Gregg Pavilion
What does it mean to be an ally for social justice? The Ally For Social Justice Workshop is open to all students on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 1:00-4:00pm in the Gregg Pavilion. In response to student requests, this workshop aims to address the needs of the LC community related to allyship and social justice work.
In this workshop, we will explore how our social identities, power, privilege, and oppression play a role in allyship. Who and what is an ally? What does it mean to be an ally? How can someone with privileged identities be an ally? Why is allyship important to social movements?
This workshop is co-facilitated by Sally Eck, faculty and social justice educator at Portland State University and Valerie White, Lewis & Clark Ombuds.
Registration is required. Please register here for this workshop!
