Introductions by Board Members - Friday and Saturday

We have 2-minute introductions scheduled in pairs, throughout our weekend. Please connect with your “partner” and be prepared to say a few interesting things about them currently and as an L&C student, and what motivates them to be on the BOA.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21

8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. - Alumni Leadership Scholarship Interviews (includes orientation/breakfast, interviews, lunch, and deliberation)

Hotel check in starts at 3 p.m. If you would like to check in before 3 p.m., please call 800.669.8610 to check if that’s available. Rooms are pre-assigned. You can arrive before 3 and enjoy the building amenities and grounds. 

  • 3 - 6 p.m. - Edgefield - check in. Please indicate to the front desk staff you will check out at noon on Sunday (regular check out is 11 a.m.)
  • 3:30 - 6 p.m. - spa services for those who pre-registered for them (optional).
  • 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. - Edgefield, 1st floor, Library - BOA retreat begins. Please gather for announcements and introductions.

  • 6:45 p.m. - Edgefield, Power Station Pub - dinner with members and friends. One table of 20, and one table of 8. Hosted dinner and a beverage ordered from menu. 
  • 8:30 p.m. - Edgefield, Winery Tasting Room - unwind after dinner (optional). 
  • 9:30 p.m. - Edgefield, Lucky Staehly’s Pool Hall - friendly competition and a place to gather (optional). 
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 22
  • 8 - 8:30 a.m. - Hosted continental breakfast for members and friends - Mt. Hood Room, 1st floor. Eat at rounds in both rooms. Breakfast breads, fruit, coffee, and tea service. You can also purchase breakfast at Black Rabbit Restaurant 7-11 a.m.
  • 8:30 a.m. - Barley Room - Session begins. Coffee, tea, breakfast avaialble.

  • 9:25 a.m. - Committee discussion: Fundraising (Beth)
  • 9:50 a.m. - Committee discussion: Communications (Rocky)
  • 10:15 a.m. - Campus update/Alumni of Color Advisory Committee report

  • 2:37-3:30 p.m. - Discussion: Board of Alumni organization. Best practices for structure, communications, and projects for the future.

  • 3:36 p.m. - Announcements and break (Andrew and Carol)
    • Break till 5 p.m.
  • 5 p.m. - Board shuttle to campus (shuttle must depart by 5:15 p.m.)
  • 6 p.m. - Alumni Honors Banquet begins. 
  • About 8:45 p.m. - shuttle boarding from campus. Shuttle will arrive at Edgefield about 15 minutes after leaving campus.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 23

  • 9:15 a.m. - Alumni Honors Banquet Debrief 
  • 9:30 a.m. - Director’s report (Andrew)
  • 9:55 a.m. - Other discussion
  • 10:20 a.m. - Albany Society Report (Don)
  • 10:25 a.m. - BOA Priority: Oral History Project (Annette and Don)
  • 10:40 a.m. - BOA Priority: Black and Orange Parties (Andrew)
  • 10:50 a.m. - BOA Priority: Business Directory (Andrew)
  • 10:55 a.m. - Closing discussion. Finish before 11:15 a.m.
  • 11 a.m. - Check out (late check-out available till noon, please tell registration staff). 
  • 11:30 a.m. - Barley Room - lunch available for members and friends. 

Hotel check out is at 11 a.m. (please arrange late check-out at noon directly with Edgefield staff, if needed).
