Sinfonia Dialectica - Synthesis and mysticism in the works of Arthur Lourié
Date: 12:00pm PDT December 14, 2013 PST Location: Evans Hall
Senior David Salkowski will present his thesis in musicology, which analyzes the works of the multifarious, but forgotten composer Arthur Lourié. This Russian emigré composer left behind a largely undiscovered opus of carefully-wrought, mystical works, which will be investigated in this presentation. This presentation will also feature a performance by Susan DeWitt Smith and will be held in room 10 in Evans Music Center. This event is FREE and open to the public.
