E&D Spring Colloquium - Bias
Why are humans so prone to various types of bias in thought, speech, and behavior? Why do people have such trouble recognizing their own tendencies to favor—sometimes unfairly—certain ideas, individuals, or groups? What are the implications of expressing, whether inadvertently or intentionally, our biases? What are the benefits and costs of a cultural and legal commitment to “free speech”?

Guest panelists followed by Q&A
Prof. Diana Leonard, Department of Psychology
Prof. Stuart Kaplan, Department of Rhetoric and Media Studies
Prof. Eddie Cushman, E&D and Department of Philosophy

The Colloquium Series is free and open to all L&C faculty and students.

Located in Miller 105.
