Which strategies do you use to build awareness and effect change on or off campus? Come to this workshop to explore tactics utilized by undocumented students at Freedom University - Georgia.


Presenters will include Freedom University Executive Director and faculty member Laura Emiko Soltis and several current Freedom University students. Based in Atlanta, Freedom University is inspired by the legacy of the Southern freedom school tradition. They provide tutition-free education, college application and scholarship assistance, and social movement leadership training to undocumented students banned from public higher education in Georgia.


This Martin Luther King, Jr. Week event is co-sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities, Lewis & Clark Ethnic Studies Department, Inclusion and Multicultural Engagement, Student Leadership and Service, and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Week Planning Committee.
