Thursday, September 12, we’ll be kicking off Watzek Screens French New Wave Cinema with Louis Malle’s 1958 thriller, Elevator to the Gallows at 7pm in Miller 105. In addition to being the only thriller in the New Wave movement, Elevator to the Gallows includes, “one of the most well-regarded jazz soundtracks of all time, Miles Davis famously played the score live, watching the film on a screen in the studio while his quartet improvised…” says Jim Bunnelle, the coordinator of Watzek Screens.
