DOING A THESIS NEXT YEAR? PLAN AHEAD

Susan Hubbuch of The Writing Center will do a presentation for upperclass students who will be writing a long paper next year to complete major requirements; this long paper may be a thesis, a seminar paper, or part of a senior project. The purpose of this presentation is to offer practical tips and strategies for preparing oneself NOW to do the paper, so that the process is a positive learning experience and the final product is a paper one can be proud of.
Topics to be covered:
- What to expect the experience to be like, and coping with the intimidation factor;
- What you can do BEFORE September;
- Topics, theories, & consultations with your faculty advisor(s);
- Getting organized;
- Other issues and concerns you have.
WHEN? Friday, April 9, 3:15 p.m. (plan an hour or so)
Can’t come on Friday? The workshop will be repeated on
Weds, April 14, 4:30 p.m.
