Senior thesis research
Laura Bogar ‘12 and Ryan Bubriski ‘12 are both working on senior theses this year (2011-2012). Laura is investigating the ectomycorrhizal fungal communities associated with Betula occidentalis and Alnus rhombifolia to better understand patterns of specificity in the ectomycorrhizal communities associated with Alnus trees. Ryan is studying the effect of varying light levels of competitive interactions between Truncocolumella citrina and Rhizopogon vinicolor on Pseudotsuga menziesii seedlings. Both have made excellent progress on their theses in the fall semester and we hope the results of their work will be presented at the Ecological Society of America meeting in Portland this summer.
