Lyell Asher

Professional Biography

Lyell Asher joined the department in 1994 and received his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in 1990.  Here at Lewis & Clark, he offers courses in Shakespeare’s Early Works, Later Works; Ideas of the Renaissance and Modernity; Renaissance Literature; The Art of the Novel; Major Periods and Issues; and Shakespeare’s Roman Plays.  His critical essays have appeared in Christianity and Literature, The Yale Journal of Criticism, and Journal of the American Academy of Religion.
