ONE-YEAR VISITING POSITION IN SOCIOLOGY AVAILABLE

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a one-year visiting position (2013-14) in sociology at the assistant professor level. We seek candidates whose research and teaching complement the department’s areas of theoretical and geographic focus. Priority will be given to candidates whose interests are focused on the Middle East and North Africa, Central Asia, Europe, and the South Pacific. The successful candidate will teach sections of Introduction to Sociology, Quantitative Research Methods, and topics courses related to their areas of research. The normal teaching load is five courses per academic year. Ph.D. or ABD required. Excellent teaching credentials are essential. Applications should be submitted electronically at https://secure.interfolio.com/apply/21274, and should include: (1) a curriculum vita; (2) a letter of application which includes a statement of educational philosophy, teaching experience, and research interests; (3) evidence of teaching effectiveness; (4) sample syllabi for introductory and topics courses; (5) two letters of recommendation sent under separate cover; and (6) graduate transcripts.
