Instructor of Horn

William Stalnaker, former associate principal horn with the Oregon Symphony, has performed with the Portland Opera, Chamber Music Northwest, Oregon Ballet Theater, Portland Baroque Orchestra and many other regional ensembles as well as numerous touring shows. He studied with Christopher Leuba at the University of Washington and with Philip Farkas and Ethel Merker at Indiana University and Thomas Newell at New England Conservatory. He has also served for many years on such boards as the Christensen Foundation, Young Audiences, Young Musicians and Artists, Music Assistance Project, and the Portland Brass Society. He currently freelances and teaches in the Portland area, playing regularly with the Portland Festival Symphony, Ecotopia Brass Ensemble, Oregon Brass Ensemble, Columbia Brass, 5tet, and Five.
