Math Hike Fall, 2011
-
South Falls is the tallest falls in this park, falling 118 ft to the river below. -
We walked behind the falls, which was amazing. -
Rock climbing opportunities behind the falls could not be passed up. -
Lower South Falls is also spectacular -
Walking behind this falls was very refreshing on this hot day. -
A group of the happy hikers. -
Two of our math professors having a great time. -
Many students just stood in the shallow river to cool off, while they visited. -
Lots of strategy games and snacking happened in the afternoon. -
More serious gamers. -
And more. -
more. -
A row of tired students. -
Our trusty cooks, Paul and Hoa.
The Math Sciences Dept invited all students in a Math or Computer Science course to go on a hike and picnic at Silver Falls State Park. 33 students joined the faculty/staff for cooling hikes under the falls on a hot day. After the hike, we all played strategy games and ate the BBQ dinner near the river.
