Students and faculty assembled for a group picture on a mountain peak with Mt. Hood in the background. This was only about one-half of the total group!
On a sunny Saturday morning, we carpooled from the college up into the mountains. With 12 cars of hikers, we seemed to take over the trailhead parking lot.
After a short hike, we arrived at Mirror Lake and had lunch. Mt. Hood is reflected beautifully in this calm lake.
Three of the students quietly ate their lunch on the edge of the lake, with a professor's dog looking for handouts.

From the lake, half of the group ventured up the trail to a nearby mountain top. Life is sweet at the top!
It's always easier to juggle at an elevation of 4,900 feet! Just ask Jesse, Lauren or Parker.

In September 2008, the faculty invited all students in a math or computer science class to join them for the 8th Annual Hike on the flanks of Mt. Hood followed by a Barbeque and board games at a professor’s cabin. A record 42 students, 12 faculty/staff, 3 children and 4 dogs trekked up the mountain this year!
