Gender Studies Brown Bag Presentation
Date: February 10 2012 11:30am - 1:00pm Location: 220 Albany
Join us for a talk by REBECCA PYATKEVICH, Mellon Postdoc Fellow in Russian, on “Intimacy, Gender, and the Poet in Marina Txvetaeva’s ‘Poem of the End’ “.
Marina Tsvetaeva (1892-1941) is one of Russia’s greatest and most difficult poets. As a female (and bisexual) poet writing during the first half of the twentieth century, Tsvetaeva’s poetry engages with and defies the stereotypes of the role of the “female” poet.
