St. Martinstag
Make your own lantern and show it off!
Friday 11.11.11
4 pm
West Lounge
The best-known legend connected with Saint Martin is the dividing of the cloak (die Mantelteilung), when Martin shared his cloak with a freezing beggar.
It’s always been a time when people have a chance to enjoy some of the bounty and get a few crumbs from the nobles’ table.
This day is about sharing things. We are eating self-made gingerbread-men and welcoming the Christmas season. Make your own lanterns and light up the campus when we walk around and show them off. Be creative and join this wonderful German tradition.
