La guitarra en Latinoamérica: Appropriations and Transformations

This musical presentation traces the history of the classical guitar and its different transformations following its arrival to Latin America.
John Mery (Chile-USA) is a critically acclaimed concert classical guitarist and recording artist. John is currently on the music faculty of Lewis & Clark College and Portland Community College, where he is the chair of the Music and Dance Department.
Freddy Vilches (Chile) is a multi instrumentalist who has performed with a variety of Latin ensembles throughout Latin America and the US. Freddy is an Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies at Lewis & Clark College.
