Marie-Eve Thifault joined the faculty of Lewis and Clark College as an instructor of French in 2010. She is originally from Montréal, Québec where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Teaching French as a second language from the Université du Québec à Montréal (1999). Marie-Eve has earned her Master’s degree from San Diego State University in French and Francophone Literature (2003) with two specializations: Québec’s literature and Émile Zola.

Philippe Brand will join Lewis & Clark as a Visiting Assistant Professor of French, beginning in the fall of 2011. He arrives from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he completed his M.A. in 2006 and received his Ph.D. in French in 2011, specializing in twentieth and twenty-first-century French literature. Born in France and raised in Colorado, his research interests include contemporary French and Francophone fiction, film, and culture. He will teach courses on French language, literature, film, and culture.
