Center for Career and Community Engagement
Resources for Students
Civic engagement can link your education to action and relevancy within the community. Learning can take place in many different environments, and teachers can come in many different forms. By applying your knowledge to real world issues, you are not only helping our Portland community, but also taking steps to understand how your academic learning can play out in the world once you graduate.
Talk to your professor about adding a civic engagement element to an assignment, or get in touch with the Academic Civic Engagement Coordinator in the Center for Career and Community Engagement (Albany 206). The Civic Engagement Coordinator can help you to find resources on civic engagement, identify courses with a civic engagement component, or present the benefits of civic engagement to your class.
