Emerging Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program

The Emerging Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program is intended to train scientists for careers in public health while supporting infectious disease research. Two different kinds of fellowships are offered: Advanced Laboratory Training Fellowships and Postdoctoral Laboratory Research Fellowships.

The Advanced Laboratory Training Fellowship is a one year program intended for bachelor’s or master’s level scientists. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of methods and technology.

The Postdoctoral Laboratory Research Fellowship is a two year program intended for doctoral level scientists. Emphasis is placed on research and professional development in the field of infectious disease.

Eligibility: Candidates for the Advanced Laboratory Training Fellowship must have received a bachelor’s or master’s level degree in biology, microbiology, biochemistry, virology, related scientific disciplines, or an accredited medical technologist program. Candidates for the Postdoctoral Laboratory Research Fellowship must have received a Ph.D, MD, DVM, or have completed all requirements for such a degree before entering the program. For either fellowship, applicants must be US citizens.
